Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Band to the rescue!
Gregg Allman has undergone successful liver transplant surgery. The Allman Brothers Band will not be performing at Saturday's (6/26/10) Crossroads Guitar Festival 2010 at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL. The Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi Band, along with longtime Allman Brothers Band/Gov't Mule iconic guitarist Warren Haynes, will take the stage and invite special friends to join them.

In addition, DTST Band have re-routed and re-arranged their schedule and will be flying in especially to perform at the Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada on September 15 & 16, 2010, in place of The Gregg Allman Band. Gregg, who was looking forward to performing at this year's festival, has said in a statement sent to us:

"I will unfortunately be unable to join you for this September’s Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival due to my liver transplant operation which will keep me off the road this summer. I’ve heard great things about your blues festival and was really looking forward to playing in New Brunswick this year as I’ve never been to Eastern Canada and I hear you’ve got great fans there! Derek and Susan are a fantastic replacement in the meantime and I look forward to seeing you all in September of 2011."

In 2010, fans of Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi have many reasons to be excited. After sharing the stage countless times, and performing on each other's respective GRAMMY nominated albums in 2009, the formidable husband-and-wife duo are joining forces for a handful of special dates. Both Derek & Susan are taking some time off this year for much needed family time, but as life-long performers they won't be able to resist hitting the road and taking the stage to play music with friends.  The Trucks/Tedeschi family plans to use 2010 as an opportunity to try out new ideas and songs so stay tuned for some surprises.

The first concert will be a headlining appearance at the Savannah Music Festival on April 1. From there, the group will play at Wanee Music Festival on April 17 before heading to the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival for a performance on April 30th.

Currently, the duo is rehearsing down in their Jacksonville home with a rotating cast of fellow musicians and friends. DEREK TRUCKS AND SUSAN TEDESCHI "ALL NEW" PROJECT FOR 2010!
Unquestionably the most formidable husband/wife team in the history of southern rock and blues music, Derek and Susan to put together a new band for 2010 and are currently scheduled to hit the road between March and September 2010.
Artist Biography
A brand new project for 2010.

Details to follow...

Unquestionably the most formidable husband/wife team in the history of southern rock and blues music, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi are putting together a new band which is scheduled to hit the road in the spring and summer of 2010. Trucks' slide guitar playing is second to none. He has led his own The Derek Trucks Band for over 15 years, has been the slide guitarist for the Allman Brothers Band for more than ten, toured the world with Eric Clapton” and was featured on the cover of the 2007 Rolling Stone “New Guitar Gods” issue. Combine that with Trucks’ 6th studio album release (“Already Free”) debuting at #19 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart and it’s no wonder why he is the youngest musician to date to make Rolling Stones list of “Top 100 Guitarists of All Time”.

Tedeschi has risen to fame with multiple Grammy Award nominations. Her powerful singing voice and fearless stage presence have made her one of the most stirring soul and blues musicians of our time. Add her knack for musical truth telling and her commanding guitar playing, and you have an artist who is quickly taking her place as the new generation’s greatest female blues guitar/singer and, perhaps, one of the best ever.

With the added accolade of individual 2010 Grammy Award nominations, this duo will undoubtedly take the world by storm and are poised to become one of the greatest husband and wife performing duos of all time.

"...two of the best young blues musicians in the world. Tedeschi, whose singing never ceases to amaze, mixed with 'Trucks' jaw-dropping solos left everyone in the crowd--and on the stage-- breathless." -Deseret News

“After witnessing Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi's ...show kicking off the Red Butte Garden summer concert series, it's safe to say the chemistry that makes the couple's marriage work is there in spades when they play music together. It didn't take long for the magic in Trucks' fingers and the bluesy soul in Tedeschi's voice to get the...masses on their feet, thrilled by the sounds of opener ‘I Wish I Knew’...” - Dan Nailen
